José Luis Elizalde Moneda

Graduated from Universidad ORT with a degree in Visual Communication and Graphic Design, where he developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling and narrative structure. His debut short film, "iWas", was awarded Best Fiction at the Montevideo Film Festival, with a jury presided over by acclaimed filmmakers Federico Álvarez and Rodolfo Sayagués.

With his first feature film, "Una luz afuera", and short films such as "Goldie", "El Turno" and "Encuentro con el Rey", his work has been selected at renowned international festivals including the Madrid Film Festival, Almería, Elche, Viña del Mar, Punta del Este and the International Film Festival of Uruguay.

Alongside his work as a filmmaker, he has built a solid career as a graphic designer specializing in book cover design. He has collaborated extensively with major publishing houses such as Planeta and Penguin Random House, with a particular focus on historical literature.
